Fun Ways to Spruce Up Your Home

We have shared pictures of larger projects for your home and office.
But we aren’t all ready for big home improvements, right? If you fall in that category, here are some fun (and much more manageable) ways to incorporate reclaimed barn wood into your house.
1. Picture frames
An incredible way to incorporate the rustic, reclaimed barn wood look into your home is with picture frames. You can highlight your favorite pieces with gorgeous (and one-of-a-kind) frames.
2. Wall light (candle holder)
So, one thing that we have seen around on Instagram (and something that we absolutely love) is a piece of reclaimed barn wood that serves as the base or backing for a wall light. The lights that we have seen are a beautiful way to incorporate a bit of rustic into your home. Any time you add something fresh and new (or in this case hundreds of years old) to the walls of your home, the look of the room begins to shift and change.
3. Decorative signs & art
We just posted a picture of a lovely sign one of our customers made using our reclaimed barn wood. If you haven’t seen it yet, go check it out on Facebook or Instagram! Signs like that and other works of art that utilize barn wood are both creative and unique ways to add a splash of rustic to your home. This is a super common DIY project because you can completely customize the sign or quote to best suit you and your home.
4. Coasters
So there are two types of coasters we are thinking of. There are slices of wood (pictured below). While not necessarily reclaimed barn wood, coasters like these are pretty to look at and functional! You can also make your own coaster set using reclaimed barn wood. Leave the wood unfinished for that raw, rustic look, or polish it off with a finish. Regardless of which you choose, a fun set of coasters on your coffee table or bar cart can add that “thing” that you need to complete the look.
5. Cutting board/ serving tray
Ok. So if you follow any woodworker on social media, you have likely seen custom cutting boards, serving trays, and charcuterie boards. We have seen some delicious spreads, artfully arranged on beautiful barn wood. This may be less of a DIY project, but it is a really neat way to begin incorporating reclaimed barn wood into your home.
