Reclaimed barnwood sliding doors are one of our absolute favorite custom projects to work on.
We strive to capture as much of the authentic and original look as possible with every single slider we work on. We build them as they were 200(ish) years ago, just like they were for the barns we salvage our barnwood from. So, not only do they look truly authentic because of the barnwood we use to craft them, they are also authentic because of the way they are built and structured.
Our goals is to craft a functional and beautiful piece that looks like it could have been directly transported from the 1800's and 1900's. There are so many doors and tables and other types of furniture that have been manufactured to look like it is made from weathered and reclaimed barnwood. When you compare those items to the real thing, even the least-trained eye can tell the difference.
Each of our sliders are designed to capture a moment in time from 150-200 years ago.
Nope! Sliders don’t necessarily need to be used as actual sliding doors. We have made them as small as 2ft x 2ft to cover up a dart board and as large as 20ft x 16ft for an actual barn. We even made a slider for our workshop and have shared it in one of the photos below.
If you're looking for some inspiration, start with our Instagram account, where we regularly post updates with both our own and our customer's handcrafted projects (plus the raw materials we have in stock). And you can always find something to inspire you on Pinterest, as well.
If you have any questions about our custom sliders, send them on over. Someone from the Michigan Reclaimed Barns and Lumber team will get in touch with you as soon as possible. And, when you're ready to move forward with your design, you can schedule your one-on-one appointment with Jim today!
