One of the ways we (and our customers) use barn beams is as just that, actual beams.
Now, there are a few different ways to do this. First, you can use them as cosmetic and decorative pieces only. For example, we have installed beams in customer's homes as posts or something else along those lines.
The opposite of that is to use the barn beams for structural support. So if you are remodeling a home or, say, adding on to a home, there's a chance that you are opening up a support wall. A reclaimed barn beam is a fun way to use barnwood in your home, but specifically in a functional way.
We have also worked with customers who use beams for rafters, but truthfully there are so many different ways to incorporate an exposed beam into your home, office, or workspace.
If you have questions, send them over to us! Someone from the Michigan Reclaimed Barns and Lumber team will be in touch with you as soon as possible.
Now, if you already know what you want and are ready to start making progress, you can schedule your 1:1 appointment with Jim, the owner, online.
